CPI is proudly based at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and affiliated with UNSW Sydney.
The aim of a clinical trial is to determine which treatments work best. This helps us to improve the care given to people with chronic pain.
We use novel brain technologies and clinical research to advance our understanding of chronic pain and the related mental health conditions. Our mission is to use this evidence to enhance the lives of people suffering from chronic pain.
1 in 5 Australians experience chronic pain
$9 billion+ annual cost to the Australian health system from low back pain
1 in 2 people with chronic pain also experience major anxiety or depression
Led by Professors Sylvia Gustin and James McAuley, and Dr Aidan Cashin, we’re a diverse team of researchers, healthcare professionals, and community members with lived experience.
